We prepare soup, tea, coffee, hot and cold drinks and a variety of sandwiches in our kitchen. These are taken by our adapted mobile serving van to Wellington Street Car Park in the centre of Peterborough, postcode PE1 5DU.
We serve between 35 and 60 clients each day. Our principle aim is to ensure that homeless and disadvantaged people in Peterborough receive hot food and drinks each day, throughout the year, whatever the weather conditions.
We have 24 teams of loyal and dedicated volunteers comprising of a minimum of 4 members. We operate 6 days per week, 52 weeks per year; evenings Monday to Friday and Sunday afternoons. This is a substantial year-round commitment.
Our clients are the homeless and disadvantaged people of Peterborough and the surrounding area, as people will travel to eat the food and drinks we serve.
They are male and female, young and old, with many common factors – that they are usually homeless, poor, vulnerable people and very hungry.
To the people who we serve food to we make a vast difference.
We have a serious need for relief drivers especially at this time. If you haven't driven the van before, but are willing to help and want to give it a go, full training will be given and you will be partnered with an experienced driver until you feel confident to go it alone. The only requirements are that you hold a full driving license and are over 25 years old. If you are happy to be a relief driver, please get in touch. Or should you just wish to volunteer for a few hours and work from home, there are there are other roles like cake baking (we supply you with all the ingredients, if necessary) or you could spend a few hours each week in our kitchen to replenish stocks and undertake light cleaning duties etc. Please contact us by email or by ringing 01733 315456.
The buttons below will take you to a copy of an application form which all volunteers are required to complete and submit, relief drivers need only complete the Temporary Volunteer form. If you have any queries please email us at
