Peterborough Soup Kitchen was one of fourteen contenders for the Social Enterprise of the Year in the Peterborough Telegraph Business Awards.
Following an extensive interview of trustees by two judges, three contenders were shortlisted – Shine, the Spina Bifida and hydrocephalus charity, The Leprosy Mission and PSK. All three were invited to last Friday’s award presentation. A short promotional video of the work undertaken by each charity was shown to the audience of local business personnel.
Shine deservedly scooped the award with PSK and The Leprosy Mission both being highly commended.
Of the three PSK is the only charity totally manned by volunteers who consistently give up their time and talents to assist others less fortunate, “ a very noble gesture “ as stated by one of the managing directors receiving a business award.
